“The construction industry in NL projects a growth of between 5 Y 6 percent in 2021, similar to the expectation at the national level, where in the second semester a rebound in public works is expected, said José Francisco Guajardo, President of CMIC Nuevo León.
He explained that "the public work that is already in execution has not stopped and has been growing month by month, and that is why we consider that it can have a growth in such a way, remembering that we came from a 2019 hard, a 2020 pandemic and a 2021 with choices.
"Now, the outlook for the second half of this year is finally clear and even more certain for 2022 ", Guajardo highlighted.
He said that even with the uncertainty, NL in public works is number one nationwide.
“We hope that in the second semester after the elections there will be more clarity for investors in private and public works and those that were pending will be put out to tender., time is short you have to make a budget for it 2022 and what we did in dialogue with each candidate was to ask in favor that the work they had be put out to tender as soon as possible so that this year would not happen ", expressed the manager.

He recalled that of the 150 One thousand construction jobs in NL were lost 45 thousand but it was the sector that recovered the fastest, once it became essential, with the 65 percent of what was lost.
Figures from Inegi show that during the first quarter of this year the production value of the construction sector in NL totaled seven thousand 833 millions of pesos, 12.9 percent less than that registered in the same period last year.
